Today after church we joined my sister and her family at the Loughborough Public Schools big sliding hill. We spent the better part of 2 hours going down and up that old hill laughing most of the time. It was a really great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. My nephew Jadon decided that it would be fun to jump informed of the sled my sister and I were rocketing down the hill on. Needless to say there was a crash that sent him flipping through the air and us flipped over face first into the snow. It was hilarious and know one was injured. I didn't seem him try that trick again. My brother in law mike wanted to show off his youthful skills and tried standing on the sled. He ended up baling 3 times and really smashing his head from what I could see. He didn't even flinch or let us see his pain. His persistence paid off because his forth and final ride he made to the very bottom. He had showed us all that he still had it! It was weird being on that hill again and on the other side of the spectrum. Me being a parent and taking my children! It's so strange how things all happen so fast. I have great memories of that place. Sliding with my childhood friends like Troy, Derek, Devin, Connie and Sarah. What's even more weird is that my husband Jacob is almost an exact replica of my best friend growing up. I often laugh of a sound or expression Jacob will make that reminds me of Troy. Their laugh, the way they eat, even their sense of humor. I did love Troy very much. He was a great companion. We had so great times together. And I got to marry Him! The new and improved Christian version though.
Anyway, a great day under my belt for may years of reliving-enjoyment.
